Auditioning Technique
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2011 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.
At Bell County Expo Center

Open to ages 7 & Up

Ever wondered what it would be like to be on the T.V. or go to a movie theater and see yourself on the big screen? Now is your chance to explore the possibilities that acting could hold for you.  In this exclusive half day workshop, come learn the basics of how to audition on camera for commercials, movies, and more.  This class teaches skills to enhance your natural ability for on camera auditioning including:

• What to wear
• Slating
• Profiling
• Working within your frame
• Learning to identify your type
• And So Much More!

This workshop will be led by Veronica Kelley-Albiez of DVA Talent and Karina Dominguez. 

Veronica has been nominated twice by Austin AdFed as one of the top agents in Texas.  She works with Casting Directors and Clients throughout the United States on commercial, film, and print projects which include Target, Walmart, Oscar Meyer, Chevrolet, HEB, and Honda to name just a few.  Her talent have appeared in major feature films and television series such as: “Spy Kids 4”, “CHASE”, and “The Ringer”. Projects for junior youth include: Parenting Magazine, Pampers, and Disney. 

Karina’s resume includes Guest Star role on CHASE, several HEB commercials, and PSAs.  She is one of DVA Talent’s top bookers in film, TV and commercial work.  She is an award nominated actress for theatre as well!

Improv:  An Actors Key to a Successful Audition
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2011 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.

This game-based improvisation class is designed to train students to react without thinking.  This class will teach you how to act from the gut, listening to your initial instincts, and reacting intelligently to any given set of circumstances.  This class helps you to “get out of your head” allowing for more freedom of expression and response.  (It will also help you feel more comfortable being in front of a crowd!)
You will become instinctually more open, both physically and mentally.  Whether you are a seasoned performer or just getting started, Improv is a wonderful tool to add to your bag of tricks as an actor, as many auditions request you to think on your feet, asking you to make quick, smart, bold choices on a dime. 
This special class is for actors who are serious about advancing their skills and want to do it in a fun, energetic environment.  This class will help to further develop:
• Your creativity and moment to moment instincts
• Stronger performing and speaking skills
• Better listening and reacting skills
• A better understanding of the dynamics of scenes that you create
• Continued creation of unique new characters, character voices, and physicality
• A focus on the relationship between characters
• Stronger choices and a fuller commitment to these choices.
